Lyo

It was a sunny, calm morning when we set out for a bit of meander-motoring toward our next destination.  Thanks to our friend, Timo aboard S/Y Seasick-Luzie, for a key piece of wood that enabled Brian to fashion a temporary set-up for the fish finder (which doesn’t exactly fit into Detour’s navigation station scheme).  Brian finally cast his new rod into the sea; rigged with specifically selected lures to entice the fishes of the north.  [Yes, please do insert your hilarious “casting his new rod” jokes here!]  Brian had big hopes for snagging a cod, or maybe a sea trout… but the finder detected no fishes below and the lures did not temp these northerners!

Fish finder is plugged via extension cord into the 12-V outlet; next addition should probably include a suction type mount to keep the finder's screen stable beneath the dodger.

The transducer for the fish finder is affixed to the base of this board, and plunked into the water from the anchor roller of Detour's swim platform.

  1. Ok here is my rod joke: two guys with big rods were taking a pee while standing on the Golden Gate Bridge. One guy says to the other,”Oh my, this water is cold!” The other replies,”Yes and it’s deep to!”

  2. “,”Oh my, this water is cold!” The other replies,”Yes and it’s deep to!”” And I would tell the first two “Yeah, and the bottoms rocky”. Could not resist a one upper. Ken
